In 2012, Rev. Linda Herzer joined the staff of a church with a large transgender population. This inspired her to read, study, attend gender variant support groups, and listen to the stories of her trans congregants. Having learned much, Linda is now an active trans ally, an engaging diversity trainer and a thought-provoking preacher. She is also the author of The Bible and the Transgender Experience: How Scripture Supports Gender Variance, published by Pilgrim Press.
Linda is a seasoned trainer and curriculum developer. Prior to becoming a trans advocate, she had a 10-year career as a school library media specialist. Throughout those years she developed and taught an extensive research skills curriculum. During her seminary years, Linda did diversity training while working as Assistant to the Director of Women’s Concerns. She also designed the curriculum for the school’s course on Women in Ministry. Linda has created and facilitated numerous workshops for a variety of groups. She is a certified Breathwork coach and a life coach.
Linda holds a BA in History from Tufts University, a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary and a Masters in Library Media from Georgia State University. She is the proud mother of one adult daughter and lives in Atlanta.
Gabrielle Claiborne has been an out and active trans woman since 2010. Prior to her transition, she owned and operated successful businesses in the construction industry, overseeing multimillion dollar projects nationwide. Today she is a highly respected trans business owner and was nominated by the Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce as their 2016 Business Woman of the Year. In 2015 Gabrielle was honored as Atlanta’s Best Trans Activist.
Along with being a successful entrepreneur, Gabrielle is an inspiring speaker, a dynamic trainer and a recognized community leader. She has served as Event Coordinator for the Atlanta Transgender Community Group and co-hosted The Elle Transit, a program promoting trans awareness on Back2Us Radio. After co-chairing the VIP Hospitality Committee for Atlanta PRIDE in 2014, Gabrielle was elected to the Atlanta PRIDE Board of Directors the following year and continues to serve on their Executive Board. She also served on the Executive Board at City of Light Atlanta, directed their choir, and founded and led the church’s transgender support group.
Gabrielle holds a BS in Mathematics from Emory University and a Masters in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech. She is the proud parent of three adult children and lives in Atlanta.
